"Perhaps the most famous of the early Jewishmystical texts is the fifth century Sefer Yezirah (The Book of Creation). Thereis no attempt to describe the creative process realistically;
the account is unashamedly symbolic and shows God creating the world by means of language as though he were writing a book. But language has been entirelytransformed and the message of creation is no longer clear. Each letter of the Hebrew alphabet is given a numerical value; by
combining the letters with the sacred numbers, rearranging themin
endless configurations, the mystic weanedhis mind away from the normal connotations of words."

Patterns
"The essence of mathematics is to look for patterns.
Our minds seem to be organised to search forrelationships andsequences. We look for hidden orders.
These intuitions seem to be more important than the facts themselves, for thereis always the thrill at finding something, a pattern, it is a discovery - what was unknown is now revealed. Imaginelooking up at the stars and finding the zodiac!
Searching out patterns is a pure delight.
Suddenly the counters fall into place and a connection is found, not necessarily a geometric one, but a relationshipbetween numbers, pictures of the mind, that were not obvious before. Thereis that excitement of finding order in something that was otherwise hidden.
And there is the knowledge that a huge unseen worldlurks behind the facades we see of the numbers themselves."
THE DEATH OF GODS IN ANCIENT EGYPT
Jane B. Sellars 1992
Page 204
"The overwhelming awe that accompanies the realization, of the measurable orderliness of the universe strikes modern man as well. Admiral Weiland E. Byrd, alone In the Antarctic for five months of polardarkness, wrote these phrases of intense feeling:
Here were the imponderable processes and forces of the cosmos, harmonious and soundless. Harmony, that was it! I could feel no doubt of oneness with the universe. Theconviction came that therhythm was too orderly. too harmonious, too perfect to be a product of blind chance - that, therefore there must be purpose in the whole and that man was part of that whole and not an accidental offshoot. It was a feeling thattranscended reason; that went to the heart of man's despair and found it groundless. The universe was a cosmos, not a chaos; man was as rightfully a part of that cosmos as were the day and night.10
Returning to the account of the story of Osiris, son of Cronosgod of' Measurable Time, Plutarch takes, pains to remind the reader of the original Egyptian yearconsisting of 360 days.
Phrases are used that prompt simple mental. calculations and an attention to numbers, for example, the 360-day year is described as being '12 months of 30 days each'. Then we are told that, Osiris leaves on a long journey, during which Seth, hisevil brother, plots with 72 companions to slay Osiris: He also secretly obtained the measure of Osiris and made ready a chest in which to entrap him.
The, interesting thing about this part of the-account is that nowhere in the original texts of the Egyptians are we told that Seth, has 72 companions. We have already been encouraged to equate Osiris with the concept of measured time; his father being Cronos. It is also an observable fact that Cronos-Saturn has the longest sidereal period of the known planets at that time, an orbit. of 30 years. Saturn is absent from a specificconstellation for that length of time.
A simple mathematical fact has been revealed to any that are even remotely sensitive to numbers: if you multiply 72by 30, the years of Saturn'sabsence (and the mention of Osiris'sabsence prompts one to recall this other), the resulting product is 2,160: the number of years required, for one 30° shift, or a shift: through one complete sign of the zodiac. This number multpliedby the / Page205 / 12 signs also gives 25,920. (AndPlutarch has reminded us of 12)
If you multiply the unusual number72 by 360, a number that Plutarch mentions several times, the product will be 25,920, again the number of years symbolizing the ultimate rebirth.
This 'Eternal Return' is the return of, say, Taurus to the position of marking the vernalequinox by 'riding in the solar bark with. Re' after having relinquished this honoured position to Aries, andsubsequently to the to other zodiacal constellations.
Such a return after25,920 years is indeed a revisit to a Golden Age, golden not only because of a remarkable symmetryIn the heavens, but golden because it existed before the Egyptians experiencedheaven's changeability.
But now to inform the reader of a fact he or she may already know. Hipparaus did: not really have the exact figures: he was a
trifle offin his observations and calculations. In his published work, On the Displacement of the Solstitial andEquinoctial Signs, he
gave figures of 45" to 46" a year, while the truer precessional
lag along the ecliptic is about 50 seconds. The exact measurement for the lag, based on the correct annual lag of 50'274" is 1° in 71.6 years, or 360° in 25,776 years, only 144 years less
than the figure of 25,920.
With Hipparchus's incorrect figures a 'Great Year' takes from 28,173.9 to 28,800 years, incorrect by a difference of from 2,397.9 years to 3,024.
Since Nicholas Copernicus (AD 1473-1543) has always been credited with giving the correct numbers (although Arabic astronomer Nasir al-Din Tusi,11 born AD 1201, is known to have fixed the Precession at 50°), we may correctly ask, and with justifiable astonishment 'Just whose information was Plutarch transmitting'
AN IMPORTANT POSTSCRIPT
Of course, using our own notational system, all the important numbers have digits that reduce to that amazing number 9 a number that has alwaysdelightedbudding mathematician.
Page 206
Somewhere along the way, according to Robert Graves,9became the number of lunar wisdom.12
This number is found often in the mythologies of the world. the Viking god Odin hung for nine days and nights on the World Tree in order to acquire the secret of the runes, those magic symbols out of which writing and numbers grew. Only a terrible sacrifice would give away this secret, which conveyed upon its ownerpower and dominion over all, so Odin hung from his neck those long 9 days and nights over the 'bottomless abyss'. In the tree were 9worlds, and another god was said to have been born of 9 mothers.
Robert Graves, in hisWhite Goddess, Is intrigued by the seemingly recurring quality of the number72in early myth and ritual. Graves tells his reader that 72 is always connected with the number 5, which reflects, among other things, the five Celtic dialects that he was investigating. Of course, 5 x 72= 360, 360 x 72= 25,920. Five is also the number of the planets known to the ancient world, that is, Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, VenusMercury.
Gravessuggests a religious mystery bound up with two ancient Celtic 'Tree Alphabets' orcipher alphabets, which as genuine articles of Druidism were orally preserved andtransmitted forcenturies. He argues convincingly that the ancient poetry of Europe
was ultimatelybased on what its composers believed to be magical principles, the rudiments of which formed a closereligious secret for centuries. In time these were-garbled, discredited andforgotten.
Among the many signs of the transmission of special numbers he points out that the aggregate number of letterstrokes for the complete 22-letter Ogham alphabet that he is studying is 72 and that this number is the multiple of 9, 'the number of lunar wisdom'. . . . he thenmentions something about 'the seventy day season during which Venus moves successively from. maximum eastern elongation 'to inferiorconjunction and maximum western elongation'.13
Page 207
"...Feniusa Farsa, Graves equates this herowith Dionysus.Farsahas 72 assistants who helped him master the 72languages created at the confusion of Babel, the tower of which is said to be built of 9 different materials
We are also reminded of the miraculous translation into Greek of the Five Books of Moses that was done by72 scholars working for 72 days, Although the symbol for the Septuagint is LXX, legend, according to the fictional letter of Aristeas, records 72. The translation was done forPtolemy Philadelphus (c.250 BC), by Hellenistic Jews, possibly from Alexandra.14
Graves did not know why this number was necessary, but he points out that he understands Frazer's Golden Bough to be a book hinting that 'the secret involves the truth that the Christian
dogma, and rituals, are the refinement of a great body of
primitive beliefs, and that the only original element in Christianity- is the personality of Christ.15
Frances A. Yates, historian of Renaissance hermetisma tells, us
the cabala had 72 angels through which the sephiroth (the powers
of God) are believed to be approached, and further, she supplies the information that although the Cabala supplied a set of 48 conclusions purporting to confirm the Christian religion from the foundation of ancient wisdom, PicoDella Mirandola, a Renaissance magus, introduced instead72, which were his 'own opinion' of the correct number. Yates writes, 'It is no accident
there are seventy-two of Pico's Cabalistconclusions, for the conclusion shows that he knew something of the mystery of the Name of God with seventy-two letters.'16
In Hamlet's Mill deSantillana adds the facts that 432,000 is the number of syllables in the Rig-Veda, which when multiplied by the soss (60) gives 25,920" (The reader is forgiven for a bit of laughter at this point)
The Bible has not escaped his pursuit. A prominent Assyriologist of the last century insisted that the total of the years recounted mounted in Genesis for the lifetimes of patriarchs from
the Flood also contained the needed secret numbers. (He showed that in the 1,656 years recounted in the Bible there are 86,400 7 day weeks, and dividing this number yields / Page 208 / 43,200.) In Indian yogic schools it is held that all living beings exhale and inhale 21,600 times a day, multiply this by 2 and again we have the necessary432 digits.
Joseph Campbell discerns the secret in the date set for the coming of Patrick to Ireland. Myth-gives this date-as-the interesting number of AD.432.18
Whatever one may think-of some of these numbercoincidences, it becomes difficult to escape the suspicion that many signs (number andotherwise) - indicate that early man observed the results of the movement of Precession and that the - transmission of this information was considered of primeimportance.
With the awareness of the phenomenon, observers would certainly have tried for its measure, and such an endeavour would have constituted the construction-of a 'Unified Field Theory' for nothing less than Creation itself. Once determined, it would have been information worthy of secrecy and worthy of the passing on to future adepts.
But one last word about mankind'sromance with numbercoincidences. The antagonist in John Updike's novel, Roger's Version, is a computer hacker, who, convinced, that scientific evidence of God's existence is accumulating, endeavours to proveit by feeding -all the available scientificinformation. into a comuter. In his search for God 'breaking, through', he has become fascinatedby certain numbers that have continually been cropping up. He explains them excitedly as 'the terms of Creation':
"...after a while I noticed that all over the sheet there seemed to hit these twenty-fours Jumping out at me. Two four; two, four. Planck time, for instance, divided by the radiationconstant yields a figure near eight times ten again to the negative twenty-fourth, and the permittivity of free space, orelectric constant, into the Bohr radius ekla almostexactly six times ten to the negative twenty-fourth. On positive side, the electromagnetic line-structure constant times Hubble radius - that is, the size of the universe as we now perceiveit gives us something quite close to ten to the twenty-fourth, and the strong-force constant times the charge on the proton produces two point four times ten to the negativeeighteenth, for anotherI began to circle twenty-fourwherever it appeared on the Printout here' - he held it up his piece of stripped and stripedwallpaper, decorated / Page 209 /
with a number of scarlet circles - 'you can see it's more than random.'19
This inhabitant of the twentieth century is convinced that the striking occurrences of 2 and 4 reveal the sacred numbers by which God is speaking to us.
So much for any scorn directed to ancient man's fascination with number coincidences. That fascination is alive and well, Just a bit more incomprehensible"

"By writing the 26 letters of the alphabet in a certain order one may put down almost any message (this book 'is written with the same letters' as the Encyclopaedia Britannica andWinnie the Pooh, only the order of the letters differs). In the same way Nature is able to convey with her language how a cell and a whole organismis to be constructed and how it is to function. Nature has succeeded better than we humans; for thegenetic code there is only one universal language which is the same in a man, a bean plant and a bacterium."

CITY OF REVELATION
John Michell 1972
"The great alchemists, whose ultimate aspiration was to procure the birth of a divinity amongmen found it necessary first to invoke within themselves the spirit they wished to share with others. In the same tradition Plato wrote that the man who aquires the art of stereometry, the likening of unlike things which is function of the canon, sanctifies not only himself but also the city and the age in which he lives. The thought behind these various expressions was that the state of a society is determinedby the individuals who comprise it; that the cosmic influences are manifest on earth through the medium of the human mind, and this is the instrument by which they may be controlled and held in balance. For the instument to be effective, it requires that the individual become aware of the current influences to which he is subject, and to this end the canon was devised; for by analogy with the dynamics of geometrical and numerological relationships, the world of phenomena is revealed as the product of archetyple forces, whose behaviour in any circumstances is predicatable once the nature is understood."

ENUMA ELISH - Babylonian Creation Myth - The continued story www.stenudd.com/myth/enumaelish/enumaelish-
The word used for man is lullu, meaning a first, primitive man. The same word is used about the savage Enkidu in the Gilgamesh epic. Since Qingu is found ...
I hereby name it Babylon, home of the great gods.
The word used in the text is written phonetically, ba-ab-i-li, contrary to tradition, maybe to allow for the etymological explanation of the name as the ‘gate of the gods’.
Then he decides to create man, to serve the gods with offerings, so that they can be at leisure. The word used for man is lullu, meaning a first, primitive man. The same word is used about the savage Enkidu in the Gilgamesh epic. Since Qingu is found guilty of the war between the gods, his blood is used to create mankind. Here, it is unclear if Marduk or Ea creates mankind. Later in the text, Ea is specified as the creator of man. Finally, the gods praise Marduk, and give him fifty names that represent different aspects of his powers and sovereignty.
The text ends with instructions on how it should be passed on from generation to generation, and the command to worship Marduk, king of the gods.

Tho' much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth andheaven; that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts, Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

OF LIVING NIGH UNTO RA

Or,
"The Chapter of making the way into heaven nigh unto Ra "
Chap. cxxxi. 5]
[From the Papyrus of Nu (Brit. Mus. No. 10,477, sheets 17 and 18).)
Vignette: This Chapter is without vignette, both in the Papyrus of Nu and in the Saite Recension (see Lepsius, OF. cit., Bl. 54).
Text: (1)
THE CHAPTER OF HAVING EXISTENCE NIGH UNTO RA.
1 The overseer of the house of the overseer of the seal, Nu, triumphant, saith :-
"I am that god Ra who shineth in the night. Every "(2) being who followeth in his train shall have life in " the following of the god Thoth, and he shall give "unto him the risings of Horus in the darkness. The " heart of Osiris Nu, the overseer of the house of the overseer of the seal, triumphant, is glad (3) because "he is one of those beings, and his enemies have been "destroyed by the divine princes. I am a follower of "Ra, and [I have] received his iron weapon. (4) I "have- come unto thee, O my father Ra, and I have " advanced to the god Shu. I have cried unto the "mighty goddess, I have equipped the god Hu (5) and "I alone have removed the Nebt god from the path of "' Ra. I am a Khu, and I have come to the divine "' prince at the bounds of the horizon. I have met / Page 398 / [Chap. cxxxi. 6 " (6) and I havereceived the mighty goddess. I have "raised up thy soul in the following of thy strength, "and my soul [liveth] through thy victory and thy "mighty power; it is I who give commands (7) in "speech to Ra in heaven. Homage to thee, O great " god in the east of heaven, let me embark in thy boat, " O Ra, let me open myself out in the form of a divine "hawk, (8) let me give my commands in words, let me " do battle in my Sekhem (?), let me be master under "my vine. Let me embark in thy boat O Ra, in "peace, (9) and let me sail in peace to the beautiful " Amentet. Let the god Tem speak unto me, [saying], " 'Wouldst [thou] enter therein?' The lady, the "goddess Mehen, is a million of years, yea, two million "years in (10) duration, and dwelleth in the house of "Urt and Nif-urt [and in} the Lake of a million years; "the whole company. of the gods move about among "those who are at the side of him who is the lord of "divisions of places (?). And I say, 'On every road " and among (11) these millions of years is Ra the lord, "and his path is in the fire; and they go roundabout "behind him, and they go round about behind him.'"
And I say, 'On every road " and among (11) these millions of years is Ra the lord, "and his path is in the fire; and they go roundabout "behind him, and they go round about behind him.'"
GODS AND SPACEMAN IN THE ANCIENT EAST
New evidence on the unexplained mysteries of civilization in the ancient East

Children of impotent revolt) into the eastern part of heaven, whereupon there arose a battle in heaven and in all the earth.
'O Thou, who art in the Egg (i.e. Ra) who shinest from thy disk and risest in thy horizon and dost shine like gold above the, sky, like unto whom there is none among the Gods, who sailest over the Pillars of Shu (the ether) who givest blasts of fire from the mouth (who makest the two lands bright with thy radiance deliver) the faithful worshippers from the God whose forms are hidden, whose eyebrows are like unto the two arms of the balance on the night of the reckoning of destruction. Hieroglyphics in Ani's Papyrus represent Ra and Horus as human-headed birds which may be interpreted as meaning Spacemen.
This description of a Celestial in a shining spacecraft speeding through the skies, blasting armies with fire, recalls those flaming `shields' mentioned in the Annales Laurissenses which in the year An 776 routed the Saxons besieging the Franks at Sigiburg."'
The same Chapter XVII continues:
`(112) . . . I know the being, Matchet, (the Oppressor) who is among them in the House of Osiris shooting rays of light from (his) Eye, but he himself is unseen. He goeth round about heaven robed in the flames of his mouth, commanding Hapi (lands of the Nile) but remaining himself unseen. . . . I fly as a hawk. I cackle as a goose. I ever slay, even as the Serpent Goddess, Nehebka....'
`(140) . . Thou livest according to thy will, thou art Uatchit, the Lady of the Flame, (141) Evil cometh among those who set themselves up against thee . . . (145) Uatchit, the Lady of the Flames, is the Eye of Ra....'
The ancient Stanzas of Dzyan honour the 'Lords of the Flame', Sanskrit Vedas mention 'Lords of Light', the Egyptian The Book of the Dead praises the 'Lady of the Flame'. Surely this suggests Extra-terrestrials with laser-light weapons dominating our Earth in far Antiquity?
Several references in The Book of the Dead are made to the `Shining Ones' possibly Wondrous Beings from the stars; the Bible would call them 'Angels of the Lord'.
`Behold, O ye Shining Ones, ye Men and Gods . . . Osiris. Ani is victorious over his foes in the heavens above and (on the earth) beneath in the presence of the god-like Rulers of all the Gods and Goddesses' (Chapter 134,15/17).

THE MORNING OF THE MAGICIANS
Lois Pauwels and Jacques Bergier
1963
Page 226
"...dreams can foretell even distant future events,* and two German research workers, Moufang and Stevens, in a work entitled The Mystery of Dreams have cited a number of cases, which have been carefully checked, in which dreams revealed future events and led to important scientific discoveries.
The celebrated atomic scientist, Niels Bohr, when he was a student, had a strange dream. He saw himself on a Sun consisting of burning gas. Planets whizzed by, whistling as they passed. They were attached to the Sun by thin filaments, and revolved round it. Suddenly the gas solidified and the Sun and planets crumbled away. Niels Bohr then woke up and realized that he had just discovered the model of the atom, so long sought after. The 'Sun' was the fixed centre round which the electrons revolve. The whole of modem atomic physics and its applications have come out of this dream."
"He saw himself on a Sun consisting of burning gas. Planets whizzed by, whistling as they passed"
"The 'Sun' was the fixed centre round which the electrons revolve"
In 1913 Bohr perfected the Rutherford theory of the atom by an early use of quantum theory. An electron moving in a circle around the nucleus can be held in orbit by a balancebetween the electrostatic force of attraction to the nuclei and the centrifugal force due to its motion.

"As they converge on the Kaba, clad in the traditional pilgrim dress that obliterates all distinctions of race or class, they feel that they have been liberated / Page 183 / from the egotistic preoccupations of their daily lives and been caught up into a community that has one focus and orientation. They cry in unison; 'Here I am at your service, O al-Lah' before they begin the circumambulations around the shrine. The essential meaning of this rite is brought out well by the late Iranian philosopher All Shariati:
As you circumambulate and move closer to the Kabah, you feel like a small stream merging with a big river. Carried by a wave you lose touch with the ground. Suddenly, you are floating, carried on by the flood. As you approach the centre, the pressure of the crowd squeezes you so hard that you are given a new life. You are now part of the People; you are now a Man, alive andeternal. . .
The Kabah is the world's sun whose face attracts you into its orbit. You have become part of this universal system. Circumambulating around Al-lah, you will soon forget yourself. . . You have been transformed into a particle that is gradually melting and disappearing. This is absolute love at its peak.".

"The largest reed boats in Peru were depicted as two deckers. Quantities of water jars and other cargo were painted in on the lower deck, as well as rows of little people, and on the upper deck usually stood the earthly representative of the sun-god the priest king, larger than all his companions, surrounded by bird-headed men who were often hauling on ropes to help the reed boat through the water. The tomb paintings in Egypt also portrayed the sun-god's earthly representative, the priest-king known as the pharaoh, like an imposing giant on his reed boat, surrounded by minature people, while / Page 15 / the same mythical men with bird heads towed the reed boat through the water.
Reed boats and bird-headed men seemed to go together, for some inexplicable reason. For we had found them far out in the Pacific Ocean too, on Easter Island, where the sun-god's mask, the reed boats with sails, and the men with bird heads formed an inseperable trio amomg the wall-paintings and reliefs in the ancient ceremonial village of Orongo, with its solar observatory. Easter Island, Peru, Egypt. These strange parrallels could hardly have been found further apart. Apparently they could hardly furnish better proof that men must have arrived independently at the same time in widely seperated places. Apparently. But what was even more strange was that the aboriginal people of Easter Island called the sun ra. Ra was the name for the sun on all the hundreds of Polynesian islands, so it could be no mere accident.Ra was also the name for the sunin ancient Egypt. No word was more important to the ancient Egyptian religion than Ra, the sun, the sun-god, ancestor of the pharaohs. The one who sailed reed boats, with an entourage of bird headed men. Giant monolithic statues as high as houses had been erected in honour of the sun-god's earthly priest-kings on Easter Island, in Peru and in ancient Egypt. And in all three places, solid rock had been sliced up like cheese into blocks as big as railway trucks and fitted together in stepped pyramids designed on an astronomical basis according to the movements of the sun. All in honour of the common ancestor, the sun, Ra. Was there some connection, or was it just coincidence?"

"For several hours after drinking the brew, I found myself, although awake, in a world literally beyond my wildest dreams. I met bird-headed people, as well as dragon-like creatures who explained that they were the true gods of this world.
Page 54
After several minutes he found himself falling into a world of true hallucinations. After arriving in a celestial cavern where "a supernatural carnival of demons" was in full swing, he saw two strange boats floating through the air that combined to form "a huge dragon-headed prow, not unlike that of a Viking ship." On the deck, he could make out "large numbers of people with the heads of blue jays and the bodies of humans, not unlike the birdheaded gods of ancient Egyptian tomb paintings."
After multiple episodes, which would be too long to describe here, Hamer became convinced that he was dying. He tried call /Page 55/ ing out to his Conibo friends for an antidote without managing to pronounce a word. Then he saw that his visions emanated from "giant reptilian creatures" resting at the lowest depths of his brain. These creatures began projecting scenes in front of his eyes, while informing him that this information was reserved for the dying and the dead:

THE MAGIC MOUNTAIN
Thomas Mann
1875-1955
Page 888
"Now Isis, the Great One of the island, Eset, a millionfold fertile in guile, felt that her moment was come. Her wisdom embraced heaven and earth, like that of the old superannuated old Re himself. But there was one thing she did not know or command, and the lack of it / Page 889 / hampered her: she did not know the last, most secret name of Re, his very final one, knowledge of which would give power over him. Re had very many names, each one more secret than the one before, yet not utterly hopeless to find out, save one, the very last and mightiest. That he still witheld; whoso could make him name it, he could compel him and outdistance him and put him under his feet.
Therefore Eset conceived and devised a serpent, which should sting Re in his golden flesh."
"Then the intolerable pain of the sting, which only great Eset could cure who made the worm, would force Re to tell her his name. Now as she contrived it so was it fulfilled. The old Re was stung, and in torments was forced to come out with one of his secret names after another, always hoping that the goddess would be satisfied before they got to the last one. But she kept on to the uttermost, until he had named her the most secret of all, and the power of herknowledge over him was absolute. After that it cost her nothing to heal his wound; but he only got a little better, within the wretched limits in which so old a creature can; and soon thereafter he gave up and joined the great majority."

"There is no such word in Sanscrita as 'Creation' applied to the universe. The Sanscrita word for Creation is Shristi, which means 'projection' Creation means to bring something into being out /Page 9/ of nothing, to create, as a novelist creates a character. There was no Miranda, for example, until Shakespearecreated her. Similarly the ancient Indians (this term is innacurately used as there was no India at that time). who were our ancestorslong, long ago. used a word for creation that means 'projection'

Facing Preface To The Paperback Edition
'Thou shalt understand that it is a science most profitable, and passing all other sciences, for to learn to die. For a man to know that he shall die, that is common to all men; as much as there is no man that may ever live or he hath hope or trust thereof; but thou shalt find full few that have this callning to learn to die. . . . I shall give thee the mystery of this doctrine; the which shall profit thee greatly to the beginning of ghostly health, and to a stable fundament of all virtues. '- OrologiumSapientiae.

'By mind alone this is to be realized, and [then] there is no difference here. From death to death he goeth, who seeth as if there is dificrence here.'-Katha Upanishad, iv. 10-11 (Swami Sharvanallda's Translation)"
Facing Preface to the Second Edition
BONDAGE TO REBIRTH
"As a man's desire is, so is his destiny. For as his desire is, so is his will; and as his will is, so is his deed; and as his deed is, so is his reward, whether good or bad.
' A man acteth according to the desires to which he clingeth. After death he goeth to the next world bearing in his mind the subtle impressions of his deeds; and, after reaping there the harvest of his deeds, he returneth again to this world of action. Thus he who hath desire continueth subject to rebirth.' "
Brihadaranyaka Upanishad
FREEDOM FROM REBIRTH
'He who lacketh discrimination, whose mind is unsteady and whose heart is impure, never reacheth the goal, but is born again and again. But he who hath discrimination, whose mind is steady and whose heart is pure, reacheth the goal, and having reached it is born no more.'
Katha U panishad.

The 7 Heaven's and Earth's Below
This section of the angels story has been given different names by different theologians. It has been called:
- The seven heavens and the 7 hells
- The 7 celestial mansions and the 7 palaces
of darkness
- The 7 heavens and the seven earths.
These would be similar to the lowlands and highlands of our world. The seven heavens stack one over the top of each other in a straight line.
I am presenting this information by combining in order both 7 Heavens & 7 Earths.
The portrayal of the synthesis for - The 7 Heavens - was made by me using as much as possible the information in hand. Steli :-)
Seven is the maximum number of eclipses of the Sun and Moon that can occur in any one year.

The Seventh Heaven
Araboth
The 7th heaven is the holiest of the holy heavens. Araboth is ruled by Archangel Cassiel and is home to God and his Divine Throne it is also the abode of human souls waiting to be born. It is also home to the highest orders of angels - the Seraphim, Cherubim, and Thrones. It is in the 7th Heaven that Isaiah has a glimpse of God and the Christ and "hears the Most high dictating the program on his (Christs) earthly manifestation and return."
The Seventh Earth
This world's form is very much like that of Earth's, having hills, mountains, valleys and flatlands. Here lies 365 different types of bizarre creatures. These creatures range from having two heads, to having multiple bodies, but are considered to be righteous. They are considered quite superior and live off the aquatic life found there. They have the unique ability to prolong life or bring the dead back to life.

Jellenek (in Beth Ha-Midrasch) recalls a legend which tells of 955 Heavens.
In Enoch 2 the Heavens number 10. Here the 8th Heaven is called Muzaloth. The 9th Heaven, home of the 12 signs of the zodiac, is called Kukhavim. The 10th, where Enoch saw the "vision of the face of the Lord", is called Aravoth (Hebrew term for the 12 signs of the Zodiac).
The confusion of the Heavens is clear here from the fact that the signs of the zodiac do not lodge in the Heavens named after them.
The notion of the 7 Heavens appears in The Testament of the Twelve Patriarchs and other Jewish apocrypha, and was familiar to the ancient Persians and Babylonians.
The Persians pictured the Almighty in the highest of the 7 Heavens, "seated on a great white throne, surrounded by winged cherubim."

Seven generation sustainability is an ecological concept that urges the current generation of humans to live sustainably and work for the benefit of the seventh generation into the future.
Our generation, the seventh generation since the Alter Rebbe . . . and this generation (the last generation of the exile) immediately becomes the generation of the Geula .
"In every deliberation, we must consider the impact on the seventh generation... even if it requires having skin as thick as the bark of a pine."

—Genesis 4:19-24 (NKJV)
. Read Genesis 4 and 5 carefully and you'll discover that the full flowering of wickedness or righteousness becomes apparent in the seventh generation from Adam in each respective line.

THE SEVENTH SEAL
“And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.” Revelation 8:1.
The 7th seal, remember, has still to be opened. Chapter seven was inserted between the 6th and 7th seals simply because that is when the sealing work will occur in the stream of time. But once the 144,000 are sealed, the four angels standing at the four corners of the earth are allowed to release the four winds which will hurt the earth, the sea and the trees. The hurting of the earth, the sea and the trees is in fact the beginning of the 7th seal.

THE SEVEN CHURCHES
Moving to the book of Revelation, we find letters to seven churches in Asia Minor. These seven churches, while they were literal congregations, they are also understood to be a description of a spectrum of seven conditions any church can find itself in. They are also considered symbolic for seven consecutive periods of time, from the Apostolic church to the time of the second coming as follows:
Ephesus ("desirable"), Rev. 2:1-7 — The Apostolic church of the 1st century.
Smyrna ("sweet smelling"), Rev. 2:8-11 — Persecuted by Ancient Pagan Rome.
Pergamos ("elevated by marriage"), Rev. 2:12-17 — Apostate church-state union.
Thyatira ("sacrifice of contrition"), Rev. 2:18-29 — The church of the middle ages.
Sardis ("escape of the remnant"), Rev. 3:1-6 — The Reformation era.
Philadelphia ("brotherly love"), Rev. 3:7-13 — The early 19th century to 1844.
Laodicea ("a people judged"), Rev. 3:14-19 — From 1844 to the second coming.

In astronomy, the Pleiades, or seven sisters, (Messier object 45) are an open star cluster in the constellation of Taurus. It is among the nearest star clusters to Earth and is the cluster most obvious to the naked eye in the night sky. Pleiades has several meanings in different cultures and traditions.
The cluster is dominated by hot blue stars that have formed within the last 100 million years. Dust that forms a faint reflection nebulosity around the brightest stars was thought at first to be left over from the formation of the cluster (hence the alternate name Maia Nebula after the star Maia), but is now known to be an unrelated dust cloud in the interstellar medium that the stars are currently passing through. Astronomers estimate that the cluster will survive for about another 250 million years, after which it will disperse due to gravitational interactions with its galactic neighbourhood.
The Babylonian star catalogues name them MUL.MUL or "star of stars", and they head the list of stars along the ecliptic, reflecting the fact that they were close to the point of vernal equinox around the 23rd century BC. Some Greek astronomers considered them to be a distinct constellation, and they are mentioned by Hesiod, and in Homer's Iliad and Odyssey. They are also mentioned three times in the Bible (Job 9:9 and 38:31, as well as Amos 5:8). The Pleiades (Krittika) are particularly revered in Hindu mythology as the six mothers of the war god Skanda, who developed six faces, one for each of them. Some scholars of Islam suggested that the Pleiades (Al thuraiya) are the Star in Najm which is mentioned in the Quran.

The Stargate Conspiracy: The Truth about Extraterrestrial life and the Mysteries of Ancient Egypt
In recent years, alternative historians have gained remarkable insight into the mysteries of ancient Egypt-but according to Lynn Picknett and Clive Prince, their discoveries tie into a dangerous conspiracy nearly fifty years in the making.
At the centre of this conspiracy is a group of respected, powerful individuals who believe that the ancient Egyptian gods are real extraterrestrials who will soon return to earth. The conspirators have intimate and exclusive knowledge of this momentous second coming-but they insist on keeping it to themselves. In this riveting, well-researched book, Picknett and Price reveal what this conspiracy means for the rest of mankind-and expose the insidious motivations of the individuals and organizations behind it...

The notion of an intellectual elite as a distinguished social stratum can be traced far back in history. Examples are the philosopher-kings and guardians of Plato's Republic and monks in medieval Europe, who are now seen as custodians of history and culture.
Their well-conceived United Religions Initiative will become a powerful tool to influence the masses toward their desired globalist agenda through a syncretic theology, which rabidly opposes religions, which do not conform to their syncretic doctrines, labelling them as intransigent and intolerant, narrow-minded bigots.

1,2,3,4: PYTHAGORAS AND THE COSMOLOGY OF NUMBER
At the heart of vedic mathematics lies a principle that underscores most, if not all, of the ancient wisdom traditions, the conveying of knowledge through cryptic, highly compressed expressions, open to multiple levels of interpretation. A prime example of this is the teaching of the Greek mathematician and sage Pythagoras. According to his ancient biographers:
"In the Pythagorean school, knowledge was transmitted symbolically, through the use of cryptic statements and riddles, in which a small number of words was pregnant with multiple levels of interpretation. Students were required to find meaning in these enigmatic lessons, sometimes through questioning and dialogue, sometimes by meditating upon their many possible meanings." (1)
If this was true of Pythagorean teachings, it was even more significant in more ancient schools of knowledge; it was, after all, at these schools, in Egypt, Babylon, and elsewhere, that Pythagoras gained his knowledge. In the case of the Indian tradition, both in Vedic times and later in the Hindu and Buddhist periods, the term most commonly encountered for this kind of cryptic literature was the sutra or collection of sutras. While this is often translated as "aphorism," or "formula," the word comes from the Sanskrit root for "thread," a usage that persists in the modern word "suture." As doctors use sutures to sow us up after surgery, the ancient sutras tie together our knowledge and integrate our awareness. There is no better example than the teachings contained in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras whose terse expressions contain instructions for the development of higher states of consciousness. Similarly, all the principles of vedic mathematics are encapsulated in sixteen sutras, which, along with thirteen sub-sutras, provide the basis for all the operations described in "The Cosmic Computer" (2).
If vedic mathematics can be counted as part of vedic literature, its ultimate source is the Rg Veda. This is certainly not concise, consisting of over 10,000 verses, but, as His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has explained, it has a unique structure in which the essence of the whole text is essentially contained in one highly compressed expression--its first word. "It is the purpose of all ciphers to invest a few signs with much meaning," Carlo Suarès tells us. "In the severity of its beginning, in its first chapter, in its first sequence of letter numbers, is the seed, and in the seed is the whole." (3)
Suarès is referring to the beginning of Genesis, in which the process of creation is described, using the symbolism of gematria, in which each letter is given a numerical value. (4) According to Maharishi, the Rg Veda also sets forth a cosmogony in its first word-- Agni, but using a purely linguistic symbolism based on the physiology of speech. The first letter, or sound, AAAAAA…, pronounced with the mouth and throat fully open, and thus with a fully open sound, represents the fullness of the unmanifest, unbounded Brahman. But the letter G, a full glottal stop, introduces the first boundary on the full openness of the sound AAAAAA…. As the wave value of a sub-atomic particle collapses onto a point value when observed, so the unity, or samhita, value of Brahman collapses onto a point and becomes the triadic value of rishi, devata and chhandas, observer, process of observing, and object of observation. From here the process of manifestation begins. As the full stream of manifestation emerges, it leads on to the fullness of creation, and this is represented by the syllable NI, the same name given to the leading tone in Indian music (Sa, Re, Ga, Me Pa, Dha, Ni.....). The details of the process, and the content of manifestation and evolution, are unfolded through the rest of the verses of Rg Veda and commented upon by the rest of Vedic literature, including vedic mathematics.
Unity, duality, diversity, wholeness. These are the mechanics of creation described in different symbolic formulations in different knowledge traditions. To find it in purely mathematical or numerical form we return to the Pythagorean tradition, and its most concise expression comes from his successor Plato. Considered the most Pythagorean of Platonic dialogues, the Timaeus begins with a question by Socrates: "One, two, three ? but where, my dear Timaeus, is the fourth of my guests of yesterday who were to entertain me today?" (5) Commentators usually ignore this statement, but, as we have seen, in ancient literature every expression is "pregnant with multiple levels of meaning." This is particularly true when dealing with numbers.
"He [Pythagoras] held that the ultimate substances of all things, material and immaterial, were numbers, which had two distinct and complimentary aspects. On the one hand, they had a spatial and dynamic existence, and, on the other, they were fundamental formulating principles which were purely abstract. Thus, for example, the monad was understood by the Pythagoreans both as the number one, which had physical properties that could be manipulated in nature, and as an idea, which embodied the original unity at the source of all creation." (6)
The fundamental formulating principles in the universe are those values of unity, duality, diversity and wholeness we have already encountered. In Pythagorean thought these principles are clearly expressed in the first four numbers. Furthermore, this symbolism can be interpreted in terms of the Quadrivium, the four Pythagorean mathematical disciplines: arithmetic, music, geometry and astronomy.
Arithmetic was seen as the study of the abstract essence of things. Thus each number had a cosmological, as well as mathematical, significance. The monad, manifest as the number one, denotes the primordial unity at the basis of creation. The transition from one to two, from the monad to the dyad, represents the first step in the process of creation--unity polarizing within itself becomes duality. Three, the triad, is the first true number. One contains the seed, and two introduces potential. Three brings number into being, causing the potential contained within the monad to manifest into its true expression, the world of plurality and multitude.
If one and two initiate creation, three and four complete the process. Therefore, the tetrad, four, represents completion. Everything in the universe, both natural and numerical, is completed in the progression from one to four as 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 10, which brings us to the decad, also known to the Pythagoreans as the tetraktys, and representing their most sacred symbol. The same sequence, from unity to multiplicity via duality and trinity, is expressed even more graphically in the simplest and most basic musical relationships, those expressed through the numbers 1,2,3,4. The simplest and most fundamental musical relationship is the octave, discovered by Pythagoras to be the 1:2 relationship, and by Joseph Saveur (1653-1716) many centuries later, to be the first relationship in the harmonic overtone series. The experience of the octave is of two notes that are the same and yet different, and these values, sameness and difference are the fundamental substances used by the Demiurge to create the World-Soul in the Timaeus. Further, the octave provides the boundary conditions within which the musical universes contained within scales are formed, the values of Do in Do, Re, Mi, Fa, So, La, Ti, Do. Of these intervals, the central ones are those found to be next in the overtone series, 2:3, known as the fifth and 3:4 known as the fourth. These values are found in the first four harmonics of the overtone series, first 1:2 (octave), then 2:3 (fifth) then 3:4 (fourth) recapitulating the octave at the next power of two. In four simple sounds the whole process of unity, duality, multiplicity and wholeness is presented to the awareness.
In subsequent centuries, the science of geometry was developed into a sacred form in which the same process is represented by the circle (unity), contrasted with the square (diversity), and reconciled in the squaring of the circle, in alchemical practice, and the development of the mandala in Eastern art and architecture. "The object of sacred geometry being to depict that fusion of opposites, the squared circle is therefore its first symbol. Temples and cosmological cities throughout antiquity were founded on its proportions." (7) For Pythagoras, the symbolism of wholeness (kosmos) and order (harmonia) extended beyond mathematical to astrological phenomena. A theoretical planet called the counter-earth was posited to bring the number of heavenly bodies in the Pythagorean firmament to ten, the perfect number, the number of the tetraktys. And over time, an association between planets and musical notes was developed and elaborated into the famous "music of the spheres," a beautiful image of the kosmos as a divine harmony.
Having seen its range of implications, it could almost be stated that the sequence 1,2,3,4 sums up, in a compressed symbolism, the whole range of Pythagoreanism. But if we delve deeper into Platonic thought, a further dimension is revealed. In one of his most potent allegories, known as the "Divided Line," Plato sets out his theories of ontology and epistemology, and again it is done in terms of the number four. In this analogy, Plato makes a distinction between the outer realm of the world, illuminated by the sun and the inner realm of the mind, illuminated by the Good. The Divided Line passage divides each of these realms into two further sections. Plato also deals with the state of mind in which the resultant four realms are apprehended, resulting in the following scheme:
Level Object Faculty Type of Knowledge
IV Forms dialectic transcendental cognition } internal
III mathematics thinking, scientific understanding } world
Etc. reasoning
II physical sense common-sense belief } external
objects perception } world
I shadows illusory illusion (8)
perception
It can be seen from this scheme that within the subjective realm of the mind, Plato posits a level of knowledge higher than that which deals with mathematical objects through the processes of thinking and reasoning. This is the level of the forms and it is reached, Plato tells us, through the use of the "second phase" of the dialectic, a technique that, according to Jonathan Shear is similar to the practice of jñana yoga. (9) This again reflects the Pythagorean approach to mathematics, one that must, on some level at least, apply to vedic maths also:
"For Pythagoras, mathematics served as a bridge between the visible and invisible worlds. He pursued the discipline of mathematics not only as a way of understanding and manipulating nature, but also as a means of turning the mind away from the physical world, which he held to be transitory and unreal, and leading it to the contemplation of eternal and truly existing things that never vary. He taught his students that by focusing on the elements of mathematics, they could calm and purify the mind, and ultimately, through disciplined effort, experience true happiness." (10)

THE SCULPTURE OF VIBRATIONS 1971
God is A Mathematician
By Keith Newman
The authenticity of the Holy Bible has been attacked at regular intervals by atheists and theologians alike but none have explained away the mathematical seal beneath its surface.
It would seem the divine hand has moved to prevent counterfeiting in the pages of the Bible in a similar manner to the line that runs through paper money. Bible numerics appears to be God's watermark of authenticity.
Vital research on this numeric seal was completed by a native of the world's most reknowned atheistic nation, Russia. Ivan Panin was born in Russia on December 12, 1855. As a young man he was an active nihilist and participated in plots against the Czar and his government. He was a mathematical genius who died a Harvard scholar and a citizen of the United States in 1942.
Panin was exiled from Russia. And after spending a number of years studying in Germany, he went to the United States where he became an outstanding lecturer on literary criticism. Panin was known as a firm agnostic—so well known that when he discarded his agnosticism and accepted the Christian faith, the newspapers carried headlines telling of his conversion.
It was in 1890 that Panin made the discovery of the mathematical structure underlining the vocabulary of the Greek New Testament. He was casually reading the first verse of the gospel of John in the Greek: "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with the God and the Word was God. . ."
Panin was curious as to why the Greek word for "the" preceded the word "God" in one case and not the other. In examining the text he became aware of a number relationship. This was the first of the discoveries that led to his conversion and uncovered the extensive numeric code.
Panin found his proof in the oldest and most accurate manuscripts—the Received Hebrew Text and the Westcott and Hort Text.
In the original languages of the Bible, mostly Hebrew and Greek, there are no separate symbols for numbers, letters of the alphabet are also used to indicate numbers.
The numeric value of a word is the sum total of all its letters. It was curiosity that first caused Panin to begin toying with the numbers behind the texts. Sequences and patterns began to emerge. These created such a stirring in the heart of the Russian that he dedicated 50 years of his life to painstakingly comb the pages of the Bible.
This complex system of numbering visibly and invisibly saturates every book of the scriptures emphasizing certain passages and illustrating deeper or further meaning in types and shadows. The 66 books of the Bible 39 in the Old and 27 in the New were written by 33 different people.
Those authors were scattered throughout various countries of the world and from widely different backgrounds. Many of them had little or no schooling. The whole Bible was written over a period of 1,500 years with a 400 year silence apart from the Apocrypha between the two testaments. Despite the handicaps the biblical books are found to be a harmonious record, each in accord with the other.
Panin says the laws of probability are exceeded into the billions when we try and rationalize the authorship of the Bible as the work of man. He once said: "If human logic is worth anything at all we are simply driven to the conclusion that if my facts I have presented are true, man could never have done this".
"We must assume that a Power higher than man guided the writers in such a way, whether they knew it or not, they did it and the Great God inspired them to do it".
The Bible itself states clearly that it is the literal God-breathed living word of the Creator. The words "Thus saith the Lord" and "God said" occur more than 2,500 times throughout scripture.
In 2 Timothy 3:16 it states "All scripture is given by inspiration of God." Then in II Peter 2:20-21 it plainly states: "No prophecy of the scriptures is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost".
Let's take the number seven as an illustration of the way the patterns work. Seven is the most prolific of the mathematical series which binds scripture together. The very first verse of the Bible "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth" (Genesis 1:1), contains over 30 different combinations of seven.
This verse has seven Hebrew words having a total of 28 letters 4 x 7. The numeric value of the three nouns "God", "heaven" and "earth" totals 777. Any number in triplicate expresses complete, ultimate or total meaning.
Also tightly sealed up with sevens are the genealogy of Jesus, the account of the virgin birth and the resurrection. Seven occurs as a number 187 times in the Bible (41 x 7), the phrase "seven-fold" occurs seven times and "seventy" occurs 56 times (7 x 8).
In the Book of Revelation seven positively shines out: there are seven golden candlesticks, seven letters to seven churches, a book sealed with seven seals, seven angels standing before the Lord with seven trumpets, seven thunders and seven last plagues. In fact there are over 50 occurrences of the number seven in Revelation alone.
There are 21 Old Testament writers whose names appear in the Bible (3 x 7). The numeric value of their names is divisible by seven. Of these 21, seven are named in the New Testament: Moses, David, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, Hosea and Joel. The numeric values of these names is 1554 (222 x 7). David's name is found 1134 times (162 x 7).
God's seal also pervades creation as though it were woven into the very fabric of nature.
The Bible has declared man's years to be three score and ten (70). The development of the human embryo is in exact periods of sevens or 28 days (4 x 7). Medical science tells us the human body is renewed cell for cell every seven years.
We're told the pulse beats slower every seven days as if it were in accord with the seventh day of rest proclaimed in the Genesis creation week. And God formed man of the dust of the ground (Gen 2:7); science confirms the human body is made of the same 14 elements (2 x 7) found in your average handful of dust.
The light of the sun is made up of seven distinct colours as shown in the rainbow. In music there are seven distinct notes which climax in a chord or octave at the beginning of a new seven.
In almost all animals the incubation or pregnancy period is divisible by seven. Seven is often referred to as "God's seal" or the number of spiritual perfection.
Eight is the number of new life or "resurrection." It is the personal number of Jesus. When we add together the letter values of the name Jesus in the Greek we get 888. Jesus was called The Christ, the numeric value of this title is 1480 (185 x 8). He was Savior which has the value 1408 (2 x 8 x 88).
Jesus is also Lord which again is a multiple of eight being 800 (100 x 8). Messiah has the numeric value 656 (82 x8). Jesus also called himself the Son of man. The term occurs 88 times and is valued at 2960 (370 x 8).
Jesus said "I am the truth": the numeric value of "the truth" is 64 (8 x 8). The last book in the Bible is the Revelation of Jesus Christ which has exactly 888 Greek words. Eight persons were saved in the Ark at the great Noahic flood. God made a covenant with Abraham that every male Jewish child was to be circumcised on the eighth day of his life.
There are eight individual cases of resurrection spoken of in the Bible apart from Jesus. Three occur in the Old Testament, three in the gospels and two in Acts. It was on the eighth day or the first day of the new week that Jesus rose from the dead. The Holy Spirit also came down from heaven on the eighth day.
Nine is finality or completion. The first example of its use is that infinitely sealed first verse of the Bible: "In the beginning God" which in Hebrew is: Brayshith Elohim which has the numeric value of 999. The very next statement "created the heaven" is also sealed with 999.
The number nine is endowed with a peculiar quality, it is finality in itself. Not only is it the final single number, but if you multiply it by any other number, the addition of the resulting figures will always revert back to nine (2 x 9 = 18 / 1 + 8 = 9 etc).
There are nine basic gifts available to the Christian believer through the power of God's Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 12:8-10). There are nine basic fruits which should be evident in the life of the believer (Galatians 5:22-23). The words "my wrath" have the numeric value 999. The word "Amen" or "verily" is valued at 99 and occurs 99 times.
The work on the cross was completed at the ninth hour when Jesus said "It is finished." The shedding of his blood was final. It saw an end to the old system of animal sacrifice to atone for sin. The word "blood" in this sense occurs 99 times.
Great superstition has always surrounded the number 13 as being unlucky or dark. Perhaps there is good reason. One of the most convincing proofs of the origins of this number can be found by unravelling all the names by which Satan is known. Drakon or dragon has a value of 975 (13 x 75) and it occurs 13 times. Peirazon or tempter has a value of 1053 (13 x 81). Belial which is personification of evil has a value of 78 (13 x 6).
Anthropoktonos or "murderer" has a value of 1820 (13 x 40). Ophis or "serpent" is 780 (13 x 60). The phrase used by the Holy Spirit Ho kaloumenos diablos kai ho Satanas or "called the Devil and Satan" is valued 2,197 (13 x 13 x 13).
This article is in truth an oversimplification of the work of Panin and others who followed in his footsteps. Panin's work initially involved some 40,000 pages of material on which he had written millions of small neat calculations. It involved volumes.
He often laboured up to 18 hours a day exploring the vast numeric structure. By and large it was a thankless task. Panin said "When I first made the discovery I was of course, taken off my feet—I was in the same condition as our friend Archimedes who when he solved a great mathematical problem while in the bath, rushed in to the street naked, crying 'I have found it.' I thought people would be delighted to embrace the new discovery, but I found human nature is always the same. So I quietly withdrew and did my work all by myself".
Although it would appear that his work has been largely lost from popular reading today Panin did accomplish several outstanding works. He published Structure in the Bible the Numeric Greek New Testament and the Numeric English New Testament.
The works of Ivan Panin have been put before the experts many times. Panin once challenged nine noted rationalists and Bible critics through the medium of the New York Sun newspaper November 9, 1899. He dared them to publicly refute or give explanation for a few of his presented facts. Four made lame excuses. The rest were silent.
Panin issued a challenge throughout leading newspapers of the world asking for a natural explanation or rebuttal of the facts. Not a single person accepted. He died at Aldershot, Ontario Canada on October 30th, 1942, aged 87. panin2.htm

THE NUMBER SEVEN IN THE HOLY BIBLE
The number SEVEN is one of the most significant numbers in the Holy Bible.
This is a chapter from the book, Biblical Mathematics, written by Evangelist, Ed F. Vallowe.
When man began to analyze and combine numbers, he developed other interesting symbols. He took the perfect world number FOUR and added to it the perfect divine number, THREE, and got SEVEN, the most sacred number to the Hebrews. It was earth crowned with heaven -- the four-square earth plus the divine COMPLETENESS OF GOD. So we have SEVEN expressing COMPLETENESS through union of earth with heaven. This number is used more than all other numbers in the Word of God, save the number ONE.
In the Book of Revelation the number SEVEN is used throughout. There are SEVEN churches, SEVEN Spirits, SEVEN stars, SEVEN seals, SEVEN trumpets, SEVEN vials, SEVEN personages, SEVEN dooms, and SEVEN new things. SEVEN symbolizes Spiritual Perfection. All of life revolves around this number. SEVEN is used over 700 times in the Bible. It is used 54 times in the Book of Revelation.
The whole Word of God is founded upon the number SEVEN. It stands for the SEVENTH day of the Creation Week, and speaks of the Millennial Rest day. It denotes COMPLETENESS or PERFECTION.
In Leviticus 23:15-16, the number SEVEN and the Sabbath, which was the SEVENTH day, is connected with the word COMPLETE. The word COMPLETE follows after the words “SEVEN SABBATH” (Seventh day). The day following the SEVENTH sabbath there was something NEW that took place.
The word FINISHED is also connected with the number SEVEN. In Revelation 10:7 we read,
“In the days of the voice of the SEVENTH angel, when he shall begin to sound the mystery of God should be FINISHED.”
“It is DONE” is another expression found in connection with the number Seven.
“And the SEVENTH angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne saying, It is DONE.” (Revelation 16:17)
The word CREATED is used SEVEN times in connection with God’s creative work. (Genesis 1:1; Genesis 1:21; 1:27 (three times); 2:3; and 2:4). God created all things in the beginning and then took six days of restoring His creation and then rested on the SEVENTH day. (Genesis 2:1-3). He appointed SEVEN days for the week, and most, if not all advanced nations reckon time in that way: SEVEN days to the week. Few ever stop to think of why there are SEVEN days in a week. Do atheists and infidels give God and the Bible credit for it?
There are SEVEN notes in the musical scale. All other pitches are only variations of these. When the musician uses the eighth note he goes back to “do” and starts over. Man named the notes but God fixed the sounds, even as God fixed the days of the week, and man named them.
Noah took the clean beasts into the ark by SEVENS (Genesis 7:2) SEVEN days after Noah went into the ark the flood came. (Genesis 7:-10) Peter tells about the long-suffering of God waiting in the days of Noah. (I Peter 3:21) Those SEVEN days COMPLETED God’s time of waiting.
Before Aaron and his sons entered their priestly work they were consecrated SEVEN days. (Leviticus 8:31-36) Here is a picture of a life COMPLETELY or WHOLLY consecrated or dedicated to the Lord for service.
On the day of atonement the high priest sprinkled the blood upon the mercy seat SEVEN times. (Leviticus 16:14) This is a picture of the COMPLETENESS of the redemptive work of Christ.
“By his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us." (Hebrews 9:12)
When Christ offered Himself that FINISHED the sacrificial offerings. They were ended. No longer must we place sacrifices upon an altar.
When Israel took the city of Jericho God told them to march around the city SEVEN times. Thus, on the SEVENTH day, when they marched around the city SEVEN times, they COMPLETED their marching. (Joshua 6:1-16)
There were SEVEN FEAST days of our Lord. (Passover, Unleavened, First-fruits, Pentecost, Atonement, Trumpets and Tabernacle). (Leviticus 23:1-44)
There were SEVEN branches on the CANDLESTICK in the Holy Place in the Tabernacle and this pictures the COMPLETE light of God for the souls of man.
Solomon was SEVEN years in building the Temple and kept the Feast for SEVEN days. Job had SEVEN sons. When his friends came to visit him they sat SEVEN days and SEVEN nights in silence, and afterward they were required to offer a Burnt Offering of SEVEN bullocks and SEVEN rams. Naaaman washed SEVEN times in the Jordan. The Saviour spoke SEVEN words from the Cross. SEVEN men of honest report were chosen to administer the alms of the church in Acts 6:1-7. There were SEVEN years of plenty and SEVEN years of famine in Egypt during the days of Joseph.
SEVEN times in the Book of Revelation blessing of the Lord are promised to His people. These are called the “BEATITUDES” of Revelation. These are found in Chapters 1:3; 14:13; 16:15; 19:9; 20:6; 22:7, 14.
There are SEVEN Dispensations -- Innocence, Conscience, Government, Patriarchal, Law, Grace, and Milleniah (sic) Age.
SEVEN times the Book of Life is mentioned in the Bible. The Book of Revelation is a Book of SEVENS. We have SEVEN churches, SEVEN seals, SEVEN Trumpets, SEVEN Personages, SEVEN vails (sic), SEVEN dooms, SEVEN new things. SEVEN SEVENS make up this Book . It is the COMPLETENESS of all things.
Jesus said to “forgive SEVENTY times SEVEN“ In other words, He is saying, “Keep on forgiving until you are complete.” Even the duration of Israel’s great punishments was based upon this law of SEVENS. Their captivity in Babylon was for SEVENTY years, ten periods of SEVENS. (Jeremiah 25:11-12; Daniel l9:2)
Life operates in a cycle of SEVENS. Changes take place in the body every SEVEN years. There are SEVEN bones in the neck, SEVEN bones in the face, SEVEN bones in the ankle, and SEVEN holes in the head. Most births are multiple of SEVENS. The hen sits three weeks (21 days); the pigeon two weeks (14 days); after having laid eggs for two weeks. Of 129 species of Mammalia (sic) the majority have a period from conception to birth of an exact number of weeks, a multiple of SEVEN.
Human physiology is constructed on a law of SEVENS. Children are born to mothers in a certain number of weeks usually 280 days, a multiple of SEVENS. Fevers and intermittent attacks of gout, ague, and similar complaints have a period of operation of SEVEN, FOURTEEN or TWENTY-ONE days knows as critical days.
All departments of nature are marked all over with mathematics. In this realm practically everything is in SEVENS. Notice next time the shape of frost when it crystallizes on the window. Notice the small snow flakes. It is wonderful how God formed everything in a pattern of SEVENS.
It would be well for the reader to always remember the SEVEN means COMPLETENESS or SPIRITUAL PERFECTION. Whenever you come to a SEVEN in the Word of God read the meaning and the message is plain.
SEVEN is found 735 times in the Bible. SEVENFOLD is mentioned 6 times and SEVENTH is found 119 times.
The SEVENTH time Noah’s name occurs is where it is said,
“Noah was a just man, and PERFECT in his generations.” (Genesis 6:9)
In the second chapter of Daniel, Nebuchadnezzar had a dream of a great image whose head was of gold, arms and breasts of silver, his belly and things of brass, legs of iron, and feet of iron and clay. (Daniel 2:31-33) Daniel told him that he was the head of gold (vs 37-38) In the next chapter Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold to be worshipped. At that time he called together SEVEN kinds of officials to the dedication of the image: (1) princes, (2) governors, (3) captains, (4) judges, (5) treasurers (6) counselors, (7) sheriffs. The penalty for refusing to worship that image was death by being cast into the burning fiery furnace. THREE Hebrew children refused to worship the image and were cast into that furnace of death, and brought forth alive, thus picturing the resurrection, signified by the number THREE That furnace was heated SEVEN times hotter than it had ever been. Here is a COMPLETE DELIVERANCE FOR GOD’S PEOPLE from the power of death. (Daniel 3:1-27) When those THREE Hebrew children came out of that furnace of fire, or death, there was not a trace of fire upon their bodies or their clothing. When Christ brings His people out of death there will not be a trace of death left on them. The will be COMPLETELY delivered from its power.

What Does the Number Seven (7) Mean or Represent in the Bible
September 26, 2014 by Jack Wellman 5 Comments
There are many references to the number seven in the Bible. What is this significance of this number and what does it mean or represent in Scripture?
Seven, the Template for Mankind
The number seven is a number of completeness, divine perfection or something that is finished, as in the creation week in Genesis one. Even though God spends six days in creating the earth, He could have done it all on one day but I believe God is giving a pattern for mankind to follow. That is, God is showing that since He worked six days, so should we. God rested on the seventh day, not that He was tired but as an example for us to follow. In fact, we are command to both work six days and to rest on the seventh as given in the Fourth Commandment in Exodus 34:21 “Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest. In plowing time and in harvest you shall rest.” Notice that God says “Six days you shall work” signifying that mankind is commanded to work for six days before being commanded to rest; therefore both work and rest are commanded and by His doing so, He gives us a pattern or an example of which we are to follow.
Creation and the designation for a week were both complete and finished in seven days which indicates that seven is a number of completion or a finished work. God’s use of the number seven elsewhere in Scripture frequently has meaning and purpose as we shall read later on.
Other Significances in Seven
Even the number 666 mentioned in the Bible where the number of the beast is also called the number of man (Rev 13:18) so just as six is symbolic or representative of mankind, and seven is symbolic of God’s work and just as six falls short of seven by one number, so man will always fall short of God’s standard (Rom 3:23). I urge you not to put too much stock in the significance of the number seven when you see it in the Bible because sometimes the number seven simply means the number of seven and it may have no special significance to it at all. This is even more so when we encounter the number seven in our everyday life. It is not a lucky number or the number of God. God is not tied to any created thing. He is sovereign over all things and all circumstances.
Conclusion
The number seven is a number of divine perfection or completion but if you have never had a day when you repented and trusted in Christ, your end will be anything but perfect. You still have the wrath of God abiding on you (John 3:18b, 36b) and will face a Holy God on Judgment Day (Rev 20:11-15) and so if you don’t have Jesus’ own righteousness imputed on your behalf (2 Cor 5:21) then your eternity will be spent outside of the presence of God and be forever separated from any chance of repentance and eternal life. You can only be complete before God in Christ, so if you have never been born again, then today is the day for you to be saved (2 Cor 6:2) because tomorrow may be too late.

◾There were seven qualities or attributes of the Messiah mentioned in Isaiah 11:2.
◾There are seven things that the Lord hates mentioned in Proverbs 6:16.
◾There were seven stems on the lampstand in the tabernacle (Ex 25:37).
◾There were seven angels pouring out seven bowls of the wrath of God in the Book of Revelation (16:1).
There are so many other references to the number seven that this article could go on and on but I believe you see the point. The number seven in the Bible represents divine perfection, totality or completion and is mentioned at least 490 times. God created mankind and beasts on the sixth day and so six is a number that represents mankind and also represents created things.

The Astonishing Pattern of SEVENS in Genesis 1:1
(from "The Signature of God" by Grant R. Jeffrey)
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1)
Ivan Panin carefully examined the Hebrew text of Genesis 1:1 and discovered an incredible phenomenon of multiples of 7 that could not be explained by chance. Genesis 1:1 was composed of seven Hebrew words containing a total of 28 letters. Throughout the Bible the number seven appears repeatedly as a symbol of divine perfection—the 7 days of creation, God rested on the 7th day, the 7 churches, the 7 seals, the 7 trumpets, etc. In total, Panin discovered 30 separate codes involving the number 7 in this first verse of the Bible.
A Partial Listing of the Phenomenal Features of Sevens Found in Genesis 1
1 The number of Hebrew words = 7
2 The number of letters equals 28 (7x4 = 28)
3 The first 3 Hebrew words translated "In the beginning God created" have 14 letters (7x2 = 14)
4 The last four Hebrew words "the heavens and the earth" have 14 letters (7x2 = 14)
5 The fourth and fifth words have 7 letters
6 The sixth and seventh words have 7 letters
7 The three key words: God, heaven and earth have 14 letters (7x2 = 14)
8 The number of letters in the four remaining words is also 14 (7x2 = 14)
9 The shortest word in the verse is the middle word with 7 letters
10 The Hebrew numeric value of the first, middle and last letters is 133 (7x19 = 133)
11 The Hebrew numeric value of first and last letters of all seven words is 1393 (7x199 = 1393)
When professors on the mathematics faculty at Harvard University were presented with this biblical phenomenon they naturally attempted to disprove its significance as a proof of divine authorship. However, after valiant efforts these professors were unable to duplicate this incredible mathematical phenomenon. The Harvard scientists used the English language and artificially assigned numeric values to the English alphabet. They had a potential vocabulary of over 400,000 available English words to choose from to construct a sentence about any topic they chose. Compare this to the limitations of word choices in the biblical Hebrew language which has only forty-five hundred available word choices that the writers of the Old Testament could use. Despite their advanced mathematical abilities and access to computers the mathematicians were unable to come close to incorporating 30 mathematical multiples of 7 as found in the Hebrew words of Genesis 1:1.
The number "seven" permeates the totality of Scripture because the number speaks of God's divine perfection and perfect order. The actual number 7 appears 287 times in the Old Testament (7 x 41 = 287) while the word "seventh" occurs 98 times (7 x 14 = 98). The word "seven-fold" appears seven times. In addition, the word "seventy" is used 56 times (7 x 8 = 56).
Ivan Panin discovered literally thousands of such mathematical patterns underlying all of the books of the Old Testament before his death in 1942. I refer the interested reader to Panin's book, The Inspiration of the Scriptures Scientifically Demonstrated, which discusses these phenomena extensively. Panin and others have examined other Hebrew literature and have attempted to find such mathematical patterns, but they are not found anywhere outside the Bible.
The Pattern of SEVENS in Matthew 1:18-25—The History of Christ's Birth
1
The number of words in the seven word passage is 161 (7x23 = 161)
2
The number of Vocabulary words is 77 (7x11 = 77)
3
Six Greek words occur only in this passage and never again in Matthew. These six Greek words contain precisely 56 letters (7x8 = 56)
4
The number of distinct proper names in the passage is 7
5
The number of Greek letters in these seven proper names is 42 (7x6 = 42)
6
The number of words spoken by the angel to Joseph is 28 (7x4 = 28)
7
The number of Greek forms of words used in this passage is 161 (7x23 = 161)
8
The number of Greek forms of words in the angel's speech is 35 (7x5 = 35)
9
The number of letters in the angel's 35 forms of words is 168 (7x24 = 168)
This phenomenal discovery by Panin has been examined by numerous authorities and the figures have been verified. In total, Panin accumulated over forty thousand pages of detailed calculations covering most of the text of the Bible before his death. These incredible, mathematical patterns are not limited to the number seven. There are numerous other patterns. These amazing patterns appear in the vocabulary, grammatical forms, parts of speech, and particular forms of words. They occur throughout the whole text of the Bible containing 31,173 verses. When you consider the amazing details of this mathematical phenomenon you realize that the change of a single letter or word in the original languages of Hebrew or Greek would destroy the pattern. Now we can understand why Jesus Christ declared that the smallest letter and grammatical mark of the Scriptures was persevered by God's Hand: "For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled." (Matthew 5:18).
What was Panin's own view of the Scriptures after a lifetime of diligent study? He wrote the following statement in one of his essays after warning of the limitations of wisdom found in secular philosophy. "Not so, however, with The Book. For it tells of One who spake as men never spake, who was the true bread of life, that which cometh down from the heavens, of which if a man eat he shall never hunger." Ivan Panin's conclusion of the matter was the following challenge. "My friend of the world, whose you are: Either Jesus Christ is mistaken or you are. The answer that neither might be is only evading the issue, not settling it. But the ages have decided that Jesus Christ was not mistaken. It is for you to decide whether you shall continue to be" ("The Signature of God" by Grant R. Jeffrey, Frontier Research Publications, Inc. (1996), p.230-237)panin3.htm

Posted on June 19, 2012
“Heptaparaparshinokh” is the term spiritual teacher George Gurdjieff used to refer to the universal law of seven. This law of sevenfoldness is ubiquitous in all coherent processes of nature when things are viewed as comprehensive wholes and unities. Gurdjieff sometimes even called this law the Sacred Heptaparaparshinokh because it was the patterning principle of physical, mental and Divine Orderly Process. Unfortunately, this great cosmic law seems, for the most part, to have escaped meaningful detection from Swedenborgian scholars. (The writings of scientist/theologian Emanuel Swedenborg have influenced my spiritual path as much as Gurdjieff’s.) Swedenborg does offer hints to the law of seven but seems to hide it in a way that makes it harder to find (and therefore requires more mental effort).
How do I know?
I was lucky (or was it providence?). I was able to tease this law out of Swedenborg’s writings because I was introduced to both men’s ideas on the very same day! Each author taught me how to better understand the ideas of the other. Swedenborg and Gurdjieff both stated that trines (Law of Threefoldness) operate in all things. So why would I suspect that Swedenborg also knew of the Law of Sevenfoldness, or even have confirmed it, when there was no specific mention of it in his writings?
My first clue was that the numbers “3” and “7” have the same symbolic meanings. Both numerals represent holy qualities and “fullness.” Both laws work together and ensure that all things in the created and multi-leveled universe follow the same rules. In his various writings (and if you are paying attention), Swedenborg breaks down a tree into seven aspects—seed, root, stem, branches, leaves, flowers and fruit (which produces more seed, or a harmonious octave of steps). He articulated a similar order working in the human intellect—perception (of something desired), understanding, thought, judgment, choice, will, determination towards action (the fruits of one’s labor from some desired outcome) and within the final action lie the seeds for new and future undertakings (a psychical octave). In Holy Scripture, Swedenborg claimed that the Seven Day Story of Creation in Genesis followed this same pattern of order.
Furthermore, he hints that this universal template by which a series of steps lawfully coheres to form unities is woven into the very fabric and architecture of all the stories that make up the true Word of God. (He called this profound harmonic fine-tuning of reality the mathematical philosophy of universals and the intuition of ends.) The caveat is, Swedenborg also points out that this order cannot be recognized within the literal sense or literal understanding of Holy Scripture, but in its deeper, spiritual messages (Arcana Coelestia 9022). In other words, this sacred knowledge is the knowledge of angels, and beyond the worldly knowledge of terrestrial academia.
Through years of effort and opening my mind to the Lord God’s heavenly influences I believe I have been able to show some examples of how the “Sacred Heptaparaparshinokh” operates within the narratives of Holy Scripture. I shared these examples in my second book Proving God (which won several awards) in the hopes of unifying science and theology through a new spiritual interpretation of the Bible, process theory and complexity theory.

All And Everything Series book 3 Gurdjieff page 49
...all the cosmoses of various scales as well as each of the seven independent parts of the manifestations of these cosmoses are in almost all respects similar to the Megalocosmos; and in each of them the sevenfold sources of vibrations have the same reciprocal actions as proceed in the Megalocosmos; and therefore, if you have understood the laws of vibrations for any one center of gravity, it is possible for you to have an approximate understanding of these laws for all centers of gravity, if of course you take into account their difference of scale.
I repeat, if the strings of this piano are tuned correctly, and the required vibrations are evoked in the corresponding strings, the resulting vibrations are evoked in the corresponding strings, the resulting blending of vibrations coincides almost exactly, even mathematically, with the law-conformable totality of vibrations of the substances issuing from corresponding cosmic sources, according to the sacred Heptaparaparshinokh.
On this piano the vibrations of each 'whole tone' and of each 'half tone' of any octave pass from one to another strictly according to the law of the sacred Heptaparaparshinokh and thus their vibrations, as occurs always and everywhere in the Universe, mutually help one another to evolve or involve.

The Law of 7; The Law of Organization. This law is visible in the seven notes of the western musical scale, the seven chakras, the seven bodies of the soul, the Seven Spirits before the Throne, etc.
'The flow of forces follows a line that constantly deflects at specific intervals and unites again at its ends. According to this primordial sacred cosmic law, the line of the flow of forces has seven points of deflection or, as is otherwise said, seven 'centers of gravity,' and the distance between two consecutive points of deflection, or 'centers of gravity,' is called a 'stopinder of the sacred Heptaparaparshinokh.' "The complete process of this sacred law, acting through everything newly arising and existing, is always made up of seven stopinders.' - Gurdjieff
